We are delighted to welcome you to Alliance Francaise de Cork Galerie for our upcoming Soirée Musicale – Concert of French Music with Maria Mulcahy (Flute) and David O’Sullivan (Keyboard).

Maria and David will perform a selection of 19th Century pieces from composers such as Benjamin Godard, Louis Ganne, Gabriel Faure and Philippe Gaubert, as well as more recent pieces – Marguerite Monnot’s interpretation of Edith Piaf’s timeless “La Vie en Rose”.

Featuring in the programme also is the great Michel Legrand’s “I Will Wait for You” (“Je ne pourrai jamais vivre sans toi”), theme song from Jacques Demy’s 1964 masterpiece “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” (“Les Parapluies de Cherbourg”), scored by the legendary Legrand!

david-osullivanDavid O’Sullivan has been teaching music for over thirty years with Cork ETB School of music. He is also a church organist for as many years and is currently working in two Cork City churches.David has also worked in many theatrical productions over the years, most recently Sweet Charity (MD, 2015).

 

 

maria-mulcahyMaria Mulcahy, a native of Cork, has a Masters Degree in Performance and a first class honours Degree from the CIT Cork School of Music. She currently plays with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra, the Brandy Lane Orchestra, Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Cork Concert Orchestra, Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra. She teaches flute with the Cork ETB School of Music and lectures at the CIT Cork School of Music.
