Kicking off the festival season in Cork in March 2017, is the 28th edition of our internationally acclaimed Cork French Film Festival  28th February – 5th March. Notez cette date dans votre agenda!

Cork French Film Festival kicks off the Festival season in March, bringing a unique French ambiance to our city in early springtime.

A city wide Festival –  Gate Cinema, main venue, English Market, St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Ballymaloe and the Grain Store, UCC, CIT, St Peter’s Church.

The Artistic Director’s past line-up of stars and guests have included: Mathieu Amalric, Agnès Varda, Christophe Lambert, Jean-Claude Carrière, Pierre Etaix, Bertrand Tavernier, Guillaume Laurant, Claudie Ossard, Nicolas Saada, Rosalie Varda-Demy, and this year…?

Part of our mission here in Cork is to foster and develop le Débat d’Idées, through hosting a series of conferences and public talks throughout the year.


Visual Arts have a lively and continuing presence in our galerie with ‘Regards Croisés’ – a series of bimonthly exhibitions.

Alliance Française de Cork is pleased to have a long association with Cork Guinness Jazz Festival with stars like Michel Legrand, Didier Lockwood, Henri Texier, Jean-luc Ponty, Richard Galliano.

We promote French literature throughout the year in association with UCCCork World Book Fest, Cork City LibraryMunster Literary Centre.


Throughout the year, we host a Café Français in our Galerie and in the magnifique imperial hotel – Café Lafayette – where our students and members enjoy a convivial francophone moment over coffee and croissants with readings, music, poetry and flowing conversation.
