If asked to name a city in France, most people would mention Paris….

…but what about the rest of France?

…cities that have enormous riches to offer to those who love architecture, culture, shopping and everything else that can only be experienced in a city.

With this in mind we have compiled a list of 5 suggestions for your next city-break in France.

  1. Honfleur

Normandy is full of lovely little cities and Honfleur is one of them.

It’s a picturesque port town and was painted by numerous artists such as Monet.

The town also shelters the largest wooden church in France called Saint-Catherine church.

Honfleur is a perfect get away for a weekend.

If you are staying for a bit longer, rent a car and drive to Deauville or even Etretat- Normandy coast is boasts a lot of scenic destinations.

2. Le Touquet

Cities along the seaside are really gorgeous and the town of Le Touquet in the North of France follows the rule.

The city is very popular in the summer and has a reputation of being the most elegant holiday resort of the North of France.

The architecture of the town is really nice so don’t hesitate to walk around town and even in the ‘suburbs’.

A lot of people have their second-house there.

Also, it is really nice to just walk along the sea as the beaches of the north are huge.

3. Lyon

Lyon is the third biggest city in France and is absolutely lovely.

The architecture of the city is really impressive and many monuments are part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage.
